The Band
Formed in 2013, Cloud City is the product of diverse influences and the desire to play hard hitting progressive jazz-funk in the Nation’s Capital. Cloud City’s high-energy, improvisational and backbeat driven sound has been described as “simultaneously fun and challenging”. Stringing together varied influences such as Snarky Puppy, Forq, Tauk, Vulfpeck and Lettuce, Cloud City’s genre bending aesthetic spans funk, neo-soul, blues, indie-rock, hip-hop, afro-beat and jazz. Cloud City released their self-titled debut EP in November 2015 and are undoubtedly a heavy hitter in Ottawa’s vibrant and growing progressive-funk scene.
